CDP Bring Your Family To Work Day!!

Bring Your Family To Work Day was a fun day! We skipped the tour this time and just had lunch and showed off our kiddos.
Daddy's work area:

 Mommy's desk:

Colin loved all the patches!!!

Hmm...looks like Colin feels the same effects of work as mommy does every day  :)

Cousins!

Staying with Nana during the summer allows Colin and Gavin to see their cousins, Lydia and Jabub (Jacob in Lydia language) lots! Which is a wonderful thing.
They went to the city library program together one day.

This is Jabub excited that Aunt Kathy is coming to babysit while mommy, daddy and big sis have a date night.

This is the tree frog (a dear family pet) that lost his life due to Aunt Kathy babysitting....long story.

This is Jabub completely worn out by all the crazy Aunt Kathy babysitting shenanigans.

Nature Camp Day 4

Survival!  Bug hunt, archery, disc golf, fire and more!

The last day of Nature & Arts Camp...awesome day! First we discovered that the fairies visited our houses last night and left "treasures and gifts" which were Native American onyx spear points!!! Much excitement over this since our focus is survival!! Mandy Bear Pearson took us to Cleburne County Chamber of Commerce Lake Pointe Disc Golf Course for a bug hunt; then Teje Sult, Jo Morrison, and Mandy Bear Pearson taught the campers how to play disc golf. A hot day but they had a great time...especially in the water spigot! Headed to WM Grocery for a delicious lunch (most chose Lunchables, but some opted for the rib-eye sub...mmmm!); on to Archery Course...we have some serious archery talent among this group! Back to Mountain Center: Natural Resource Center to watch "My Side of the Mountain" and to toast s'mores on a campfire. We received lots of hugs, some tears (kids didn't want camp to be over), and lots of joy...great group of children. All were making plans to come to other programs and to return to camp next year.

These are some things said by Ms. Renee Morrison (JSU Field School Assistant Director) about this particular group of kids:

"The kids loved the ghost stories, ghost hunt, and fairy houses project...having done this program for 10 years with thousands of kids, let me tell you that some of them with extra smart little brains, gifted imaginations and super creativity will begin to think about the ghosts as it gets dark tonight."

"I MISS MY CAMPERS!! This was one of the sweetest, most unique, entertaining group of children...ever!! Please tell them that I miss them and hope to see them at other programs soon...and definitely at camp next summer!!!!

This was a great find Nana!  Thanks so much for allowing Colin to go!!
